The Friends of Koreshan State Park will present a talk by Adam Morris, author of American Messiahs. In its April 19, 2019 book review, the New York Times states the book reveals fundamental themes and contradictions and the deeper human impulses addressed by several charismatic prophets. These prophets dissented from traditional Christianity and claimed, in one way or another, to represent God himself. Morris features Koreshan Unity Settlement founder Cyrus Teed as one of the handful of religious leaders profiled in his important book. Morris’ talk begins at 7:00 pm in the Art Hall at Koreshan State Park. Limited to 75 attendees.
