Thank you for considering Koreshan State Park for your wedding or special event. The Koreshan Unity moved to Estero in 1893 and their land was transferred to the state of Florida in the 1960s and became a state park. The Park has 12 historic buildings on the grounds built by the Koreshan Unity and offers a wide variety of programs and events for our visitors. Below are the rules and regulations and booking application for weddings and special events.


Fees are as follows:

  • Wedding in the Historic Settlement – $150 (plus tax)
  • Tent fee (if applicable) – $100 (plus tax)
  • Pavilion Rental for Reception – $75 (plus tax)
  • Damage/Cleaning deposit (due two weeks prior to event) – $100
    (deposit returned once the grounds are restored & all equipment is removed)
  • Guest Entrance – $2.00 per person. (due at end of event)

Applicable fees are due with the signed Agreement.

Maximum of 75 persons for occupancy, which includes the bride, groom, guests and vendors.

The wedding site and pavilion are based upon availability.


Ceremonies may begin no earlier than 9:00 a.m. and conclude no later than sunset. Decorations, trash, equipment, vendors, and guests must be off the property at that time.

Receptions are only permitted at the picnic pavilion and must conclude no later than sunset. Everyone must be off the property by that time. All items must be broken down completely and removed by time of departure. Receptions are not permitted within the Historic Settlement Area.


Decorations, signs, banners, etc. may not be taped, nailed, stapled, or otherwise fastened to the Park property or any vegetation. No holes may be drilled, cored, or punched in any part of the facility. Bubbles and natural flower petals are allowed. Rice, birdseed, glitter, confetti, balloons, sparklers, non-biodegradable and environmentally inappropriate materials are not permitted. Tiki torches and other open flame devices are not permitted. Candles in votive cups or hurricane globes used as centerpieces on tables are allowed. Bounce houses or similar inflatable items are not permitted.

Koreshan State Park cannot change or supplement any exhibits that are in place at the time of your event. The exhibits, including historic furniture cannot be moved or covered for any reason. Koreshan State Park offers a beautiful outdoor environment with limited covered areas. It is recommended that tenting options be considered due to Florida’s unpredictable weather. Please note that tent stakes are not permitted, and tents must be weighted down. Some locations are limited on the size and number of tents.

Alcohol is only allowed in Pavilion area. It is prohibited by Florida law to serve alcoholic beverages to persons less than 21 years of age or anyone who appears to be intoxicated.


Vendors would include any music, food or decorations companies, including tables, chairs, tents, etc.

Any vehicles entering the settlement must be led by Park staff.

Lessee and all hired vendors must be willing to work closely and cooperatively with the Park staff. The Park staff shall be present to supervise the property during each function. A representative of the Lessee must be present to meet all deliveries.

Contracted vendors must provide the Park, at least thirty days in advance of the event a Certificate of Liability Insurance with a minimum of $300,000 liability listing “Koreshan State Park/State of Florida Trustees of the Internal Improvement Trust Fund” as additional insureds or certificate holders. They must also provide proof of Worker’s Comp and vehicle insurance.

Vendors are responsible for trash removal and supplying all materials necessary, i.e. garbage cans, liners, cleaning supplies, extension cords, etc. Clean up after an event is required and is the complete responsibility of the lessee.

Failure to return the property to the condition in which it was received will result in the loss of the lessee’s damage/cleaning deposit.


In the event of rain, outdoor events may be postponed beginning up to one hour after contracted start time. Alternative arrangements (i.e. tent use) should be considered by the Lessee during the event planning process.


In the case the event is cancelled by the lessee, the cancellation must be received at least 15 days prior to the event date for a refund. The original receipt and proof of I.D. are required for any refunds. Refunds can take up to 6 weeks to receive.
