Join a Park Ranger in the historic Art Hall for a fascinating talk exploring the unique history of the Koreshan Unity’s gardens in Koreshan State Park, created between 1894 and 1908 by the followers of Dr. Cyrus Teed. It highlights how the utopian community transformed dense Florida wilderness into a carefully planned landscape featuring ornamental plantings, a sunken garden, and ceremonial riverfront entrances. The talk also examines how these gardens reflected the group’s spiritual ideals, communal lifestyle, and ambitions to build their “New Jerusalem.”
