Volunteering

Our volunteers assist with educational workshops, tours and lectures, student programs, groups tours, reach projects, computer assistance, gardening, maintenance, handy-person work, office duties and special events.

HOW CAN YOU HELP BRING OUR HISTORY TO LIFE?

Assist at the Ranger Station

Answer the phones, general office duties, sell and inventory merchandise.

Learn About Koreshan History

Become a Tour Guide or Docent and participate in outreach efforts.

Assist at Special Events

Special events include: Halloween, Holiday Decorations in the Park and Photo Contest, Ghost Walk, Sunday Farmers Market among others.

Gardening/Maintenance Assistance

Help create and maintain native and botanical gardens, remove exotic plants and maintain the general park appearance.

Carpentry/Handypersons

Assist with carpentry and painting projects, small engine repair and maintenance.

Special Skills/Talents

Various jobs are available to people with specific abilities on an as-needed basis, so be sure to let us know your special skills!  Specific skills we need include but are not limited to photography, videography, sewing, acting, computer skills and social media.  We will match your interest and skills to a specific volunteer positions or assist in training you in a new area. You will have the full support and appreciation of Koreshan State Park to make your time as a volunteer a fulfilling and rewarding experience!

    Park Service Volunteer benefits include:

    • 50 hours of service =  6 (six) Free admissions to a park for you and your family.
    • 250 hours of service = Florida Park Service Special Volunteer Pass for free admission to parks.
    • Volunteer recognition events, certificates, awards and more!

    We are currently looking for volunteers to train and serve as/for:

    • Costumed Interpreters
    • Cooking Programs
    • Outreach Programs and Events
    • Park Events
    • Park Maintenance
